"This is a disaster," Rachel almost sobbed, as they rounded the corner and the same village came into view for the third time. "We've been here before."

"Are you sure?" Steve asked, looking up from the map, to the tiny village before them. It was an idyllic picture, even through the dismal wash of Cumbria rain. The village was little more than a hamlet of houses, spiralling away from a central terrace built entirely from the distinctive, grey slate of the region. But at that precise moment, Rachel couldn’t feel anything but loathing for it.
